DU’s Sanders and USD’s Spencer Claim Swimmer of the Week Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Amanda Sanders was named Summit League Women's Swimmer of the Week while South Dakota's Nathan Spencer earned Men's Swimmer of the Week award for their performances during the week of Oct. 10-16.

AMANDA SANDERS, DENVER
Sr.  // Superior, Colo.  

  • Collected her fifth career Swimmer of the Week honor and first of the season
  • Senior set the Rice Pool record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:13.94
  • Placed first in the 200 breast and fourth in the 200 IM
  • Her winning times of 2:13.94 in the 200 breast and 2:09.15 in the 200 IM are the fastest in the league this season

NATHAN SPENCER, SOUTH DAKOTA
Fr. // Bettendorf, Iowa

  • Named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career
  • Freshman claimed his first career victory in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.56
  • His winning time in the 200 free places him second for fastest time in the league
