WIU’s Clemens Selected as #SummitWBB Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois junior guard Emily Clemens was named the Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Nov. 21-27.

  • Collected her second career Player of the Week award both in consecutive weeks in leading Western Illinois to its best start to a season since 2005-06 (5-1) 
  • Recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists while adding seven rebounds in a win at Kansas City
  • Scored 24 points with six rebounds and four assists in a two-point win at SIU Edwardsville
  • Connected on three free throws in the final 1:22 against the Cougars, including two with three seconds remaining to secure the victory
  • For the week, averaged 22 points, seven assists, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest, while recording a 2.3 assist/turnover ratio
  • Shot 50 percent (14-of-28) from the field, 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from downtown and 85.7 percent (12-of-14) at the line
