UNO’s Hames, NDSU’s Sertic Claim First #SummitSB Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – Omaha infielder Sydney Hames was named Summit League Player of the Week while North Dakota State pitcher Jacquelyn Sertic garnered the league's Pitcher of the Week award for their performances during the week of Feb. 8-14.

  • Earned her first career Player of the Week award
  • Helped Omaha to a winning record (3-2) at the Arizona Hillenbrand Invitational  
  • Recorded a base hit in all five games for the Mavericks, including three hits and 5 RBI in 17-16 win over UCSB
  • Hit two home runs in 9-6 win over Southern Utah and added another in 8-5 win vs. Purdue
  • For the week, she hit .500 with a 1.056 slugging percentage, knocking in nine and scoring four times while only striking out once in 19 plate appearances

  • Collected her first career Pitcher of the Week award
  • Went 1-1 in three appearances at the Texas Classic over the weekend
  • In 18.2 innings pitched, she racked up 12 strikeouts with a 3.00 ERA
  • Pitched a complete game in NDSU's 5-2 victory over North Carolina of the ACC
