USD’s Hancock, UNO’s Roecker Named #SummitSB Player, Pitcher of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota's Sydney Hancock was named Summit League Player of the Week while Omaha pitcher Laura Roecker garnered the league's Pitcher of the Week award for their performances during the week of March 21-27.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SYDNEY HANCOCK, SOUTH DAKOTA

  • Named Summit League Player of the Week for the first time in her career
  • Hit .700 (7-for-10) over the weekend, helping South Dakota to a series win at Fort Wayne
  • Went 4-for-4 with a double, three-run home run and scored three runs in the Coyotes' 10-1 game one win
  • Added a two-run homer in her first at-bat of game two, her fifth consecutive hit
  • For the week, she drove in seven runs while slugging 1.400 with a .750 on-base percentage

  • Earned her second Summit League Pitcher of the Week award this season
  • Picked up a win and a save in Omaha's two wins over IUPUI
  • Pitched a complete game win, giving up only four hits in the Mavs' 4-2 series-opening victory
  • Collected her first career save by pitching a perfect seventh inning to preserve the 8-7 win and series sweep of the Jaguars
