WIU’s Blumer Captures #SummitWBB Player of the Week Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – Western Illinois junior guard Morgan Blumer was named The Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performances Jan. 9-15.

  • Garnered her first career Player of the Week award 
  • Posted career-highs of 36 points, 15 rebounds, 12 field goals made and seven three-point field goals made in the win over North Dakota State
  • Her seven treys tied a school single-game record and her 36 points are tied for third-best in program history
  • Scored 19 points with six rebounds and two blocks in the win at Omaha
  • Gave Western Illinois its first lead of the game vs. the Mavericks with the go-ahead basket with 12 seconds remaining
  • For the week, averaged 27.5 points, 10.5 rebounds 2.5 blocks, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steal per game with no turnovers in 64 minutes of action
  • Shot 58.8 percent (20-of-34) from the field, 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from three-point range and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) at the line

Celebrating its 35th season of Division I athletics, The Summit League features women's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois.
