Omaha’s Grigorescu Named Season’s Initial #SummitMTN Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Omaha's Razvan Grigorescu was named Summit League Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his performance through Jan. 23. The honor marks the initial weekly award of the season.

  • Collected first career Player of the Week award
  • Began collegiate career with No.1 singles victories over No. 18 Spencer Papa of Oklahoma (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7)) and Nebraska's Toby Boyer (6-3, 4-6, 6-1)
  • Teamed with Colin Buckley to score a 6-1 victory at No.1  doubles as Mavericks swept Nebraska for doubles point
  • Knotted the Nebraska match at three after his singles victory, setting the stage for Mavs first win, 4-3, over its intrastate foe and the program's initial victory over a Power 5 team
