IUPUI’s Lawrence; WIU’s Blumer Named #SummitWBB Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – IUPUI junior guard Danielle Lawrence and Western Illinois junior guard Morgan Blumer were named The Summit League Women's Basketball Players of the Week for their performances Feb. 6-12.

DANIELLE LAWRENCE, IUPUI
Jr. // G // Louisville, Ky.

  • Earned her first Player of the Week award this season 
  • Scored 18 points with three steals in a win at Denver
  • Led the Jaguars with 20 points, scoring nine in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback victory over South Dakota State
  • For the week, averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 assists, 5.0 steals per game, and 3.0 rebounds
  • Shot 51.9 percent (14-of-27) from the field and 72.7 percent (8-of-11) at the free throw line

MORGAN BLUMER, WESTERN ILLINOIS
Jr. // G // Milton, Wis.

  • Garnered her second Player of the Week award this season
  • Recorded a double-double (20 points, 11 rebounds) with two assists, three steals, and no turnovers in a win at North Dakota State
  • Followed that up with 21 points and seven rebounds in the win at Denver
  • For the week, averaged 21.0 points, 1.5 assists, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game
  • Shot 55.6 percent (15-of-27) from the field, 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the arc, and 100.0 percent (4-of-4) at the free throw line
  • The two wins moved the Fighting Leathernecks into a tie for first place with South Dakota State
  • Broke the Western Illinois program record for most three-pointers in a single season (69)
