South Dakota State’s Daum Earns #SummitMBB Weekly Honor

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State's Mike Daum was named Summit League Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performances Feb. 13-19.

  • Collected his fourth career Player of the Week honor and third this season
  • Scored NCAA season-high 51 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in win at Fort Wayne
  • Became just the second NCAA Division I player in last 20 seasons to score 50 and have 15 rebounds
  • His 51-point performance was a school-record and fourth-highest ever by any Summit League player
  • Just missed a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds in victory over IUPUI
  • Averaged 38.5 points and 12.0 rebounds while shooting 96.6 percent (28-of-29) from the free throw line

Celebrating its 35th season of Division I athletics, The Summit League features men's basketball teams from nine member institutions: Denver, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, North Dakota State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Western Illinois. In 2015-16, The Summit League finished with an all-time best No. 12 RPI ranking, its fifth consecutive top-20 season, and set season standards for overall and mid-major winning percentage, road and power five victories.  Called "March's Best-Kept Secret" by USA Today, The Summit League Basketball Championships again posted record-setting attendance figures and finished eighth among all Division I men's basketball for average session attendance.
