NDSU’s Anderson, USD’s Green and WIU’s Ira Earn #SummitSB Weekly Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State first baseman Vanessa Anderson was named Summit League Player of the Week while South Dakota's pitcher Megan Green and Western Illinois pitcher Emily Ira earned the league's Pitchers of the Week award for their performances during the week of March 27- April 2.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
VANESSA ANDERSON, NORTH DAKOTA STATE   
So. // 1B // Rochester, Minn.    

  • Named Summit League Player of the Week for the first time in her career and season
  • Recorded .556 (5-for-9) average over the weekend with a .636 on-base percentage and 1.667 slugging percentage
  • Drove in six runs with one double and three home runs in three games while scoring six times
  • Went 3-for-4 with two home runs, scoring two runs in final game of the series against Fort Wayne
  • Had a 1.000 fielding percentage with 14 putouts and one assist

  • Picked up two wins in the series against South Dakota State
  • Surrendered eight base-hits in 11 innings, finished the weekend with an ERA of 0.00
  • Through 65 pitches to earn her first collegiate shutout in final game of the series

EMILY IRA, WESTERN ILLINOIS

  • Earned her second Summit League Pitcher of the Week award this season and third in her career
  • Picked up one win in the sweep over Omaha
  • Surrendered four base-hits in seven innings, finished the weekend with an ERA of 0.00 and tallied 13 strikeouts
  • Helped coach Holly Van Vlymen earn her 250th career win
