The Summit League Announces the Third Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Week three of the swimming and diving season is in the books. Western Illinois swept the men's awards this week as Brennan Bladel earned his second consecutive swimmer of the week honor whole his teammate Colin Parker earned his first career diving honor. On the women's side we had two student-athletes earn their first awards of the season as Denver's Lauren Moden was named swimmer of the week and South Dakota's Haley Pederson was named diver of the week.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Lauren Moden, Denver
Sr. | Parker, Colo.
• Won six events at Denver's Dual-A-Pool-Ooza while also winning two events against Tulane the following day
• 50-yard freestyle 23.99; 400-yard medley 3:45.73; 100-yard freestyle vs FIU, 42.96; 100-yard freestyle vs Rice, 52.32; 200-yard medley relay 23.09 (1:43.54); 200-yard freestyle 23.33 (1:34.49)
• This is her second career swimmer of the week honor

Female Diver of the Week
Haley Pederson, South Dakota
So. | West Fargo, N.D.
• Won the 3-meter dive with a score of 299.85
• Her 3-meter score was an NCAA Zone Diving qualifying mark as well as the second best point total in school history
• Finished fourth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 227.33
• This is her first career diving weekly honor

Male Swimmer of the Week
Brennan Bladel, Western Illinois
Jr. | Davenport, Iowa
• Won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.21
• Earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 20.80 (1:35.23). His time was a personal best in the event
• Placed third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:56.91 while earning fourth in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:14.71

• Finished fourth in the 3-meter dive with a score of 213.98
• Placed fifth in the 1-meter dive with a score of 250.28
• This is his first career diving weekly honor
