The Summit League Announces Week 10 men’s soccer awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Summit League officials announces the week 10 players of the week and for the second consecutive week Purdue Fort Wayne has earned the offensive honor. The Mastodons' Blake Cearns was named the offensive player of the week, while Denver's Will Palmquist earned the defensive honor.
Cearns, a senior, picked up his first career weekly honor after scoring two goals in Purdue Fort Wayne's two wins last week. Palmquist earned his second honor of the season after helping Denver beat Saint Louis while only allowing one goal against No. 9 Stanford.
Offensive Player of the Week
Blake Cearns, Purdue Fort Wayne
Sr. | Forward/Midfield | Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
• Helped Purdue Fort Wayne go 2-0 over the weekend with wins against IUPUI and Eastern Illinois
• He scored a goal in both matches
• Scored the game-winning goal against EIU in overtime that helped clinch a berth into The Summit League Championship
• Earned his first career offensive player of the week honor

Defensive Player of the Week
Will Palmquist, Denver

• Went 1-1 last week with a win against Saint Louis
• Allowed just one goal at No. 9 Stanford while facing 23 shots
• Saved a career-high seven shots against Stanford and saved nine on the weekend
• Earned his second career defensive player of the week honor and second of the season
