The Summit League Announces the Fourth Swimming and Diving Weekly Award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Summit League officials announced the week four male and female swimmers of the week, highlighted by a pair of first-time award winners. Eastern Illinois junior Rachel Manderscheid was named the female swimmer of the week after earning three victories, while Denver junior Hugo Sykes earned the male swimmer of the week honor after two wins at two separate events.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Rachel Manderscheid, Eastern Illinois
Jr. | Ankeny, Iowa
• Won three events in a dual against Valparaiso
• 50-yard breaststroke 33.45; 100-yard breaststroke 1:12.09; 200-yard medley relay 32.98 (1:53.42)
• This is her first career swimmer of the week honor

Male Swimmer of the Week
Hugo Sykes, Denver
Jr. | Weston, Conn.
• Won two events and finished second in a third in a dual against Air Force, while also winning two events and finishing second in a third in a dual against Wyoming
• Time vs Air Force: 200-yard freestyle, 1:42.26; 400-yard freestyle, 46.16 (3:06.91); 100-yard freestyle, 46.84. Times vs Wyoming: 100-freestyle, 45.83; 200-yard freestyle relay, 20.31 (1:21.43); 200-yard freestyle, 1:42.06
• His wins against Air Force were the first two of his career
• This is his first career swimmer of the week honor
