Western Illinois’ Higginbotham earns Summit League Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In the final week before all nine member institutions take a few days off to spend time with family and friends for the holiday's, Western Illinois' Taylor Higginbotham has a fantastic weekend in Las Vegas to earn this weeks Summit League Player of the Week award.
Higginbotham, the lone senior on this years Western Illinois squad, helped guide her team to a 1-and-1 record at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic. Higginbotham averaged 20-points and nine rebounds while dishing out two assists in their two games in Vegas.

• Higginbotham averaged 20-points and nine rebounds in two games for WIU
• She scored a game-high 24-points against UTEP while grabbing six board
• Higginbotham recorded her second double-double of the season in a win against Furman. She had 16-points and 12 rebounds including five made three-pointers
• She sot 54 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind-the-arc
• Higginbotham moved into second on Western Illinois all-time scoring list with 1,551 points
• This is Higginbotham's third career player of the week honor and first of the season
