SDSU’s Janssen, WIU’s Ira Earn #SummitSB Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State infielder Baily Janssen was named Summit League Player of the Week, while Western Illinois pitcher Emily Ira garnered the league's Pitcher of the Week award for their performances during the week of Feb. 19-25.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BAILY JANSSEN, SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
Jr. // IF // Missouri Valley, Iowa

Earned her first-career Player of the Week accolade
Registered a .500 average and slugged 1.000 with a .500 on-base percentage during the week
Went 3-for-6 at the plate with three RBI, two walks and an inside-the-park homerun (her first-career round tripper)
In win over Austin Peay, went 2-for-3 with two runs scored

Compiled a 1-2 record with a 1.02 ERA during the week
Struck out 26 and walked only one in 20.2 innings while completing all three starts
Tied for second-most in program history in a single game with 15 strikeouts in win against Alabama State
