Golfers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver's Chris Korte was named The Summit League Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance at the Bandon Dunes Championship, March 11-13, while South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano earned the women's honor for her showing at the Jackrabbit Invitational, March 12-13.

Korte managed a 54-hole score of 7-under 206. The senior from Littleton, Colo., opened the tournament at 3-over 74, but promptly closed it out with back-to-back 5-under 66's. That single round score is tied for fourth-best in the league this year (in relation to par).

Toscano pieced together one of her best performances of the 2017-18 campaign this past week, turning in a season-low 1-under 215 score—thanks in part to her nine total birdies. The sophomore from Huelva, Spain, also placed fourth on the leaderboard, marking her best individual finish of the year.
