South Dakota, South Dakota State Earn #SummitSD Weekly Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Week eight of the swimming and diving season is complete and this week's Summit League weekly award winners come from South Dakota and South Dakota State. The Coyotes' Sabrina Sabadeanu and Haley Pederson won female swimmer and diver of the week honors, respectively, while Charlie Bean was named the male swimmer of the week. The Jackrabbits' Zach Boyd won his second diver of the week honor this season.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Sabrina Sabadeanu, South Dakota
Sr. | Commerce City, Colo.

• Swam league-leading times in four events (200 IM, 100 Back, 200 Back, 50 Back) during the three-day Augustana Invite

• Placed first in the 200 Backstroke (1:59.95)

• Also finished second in the 100 Backstroke (55.81) and 200 Medley (1:43.63)

• Earned seventh career swimmer of the week accolade

Female Diver of the Week
Haley Pederson, South Dakota
Jr. | West Fargo, N.D.

• Placed first in the 1-meter dive, earning a score of 259.30

• Also placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 248.50

• Sixth career diver of the week honor and fifth this season

Male Swimmer of the Week
Charlie Bean, South Dakota
So. | Waverly, Minn.

• Swam a program-record 44.44 in the 100 Free at the Augustana Invite

• Placed first in the 200 Free (1:39.26), 800 Free (6:45.37), 400 Free (2:59.15) and 200 Free (1:21.06)

• His second-place 50 Free time of 20.15 sits third-best in the Summit League this season

• This is his first-career swimmer of the week accolade

Also nominated: Josh Wuflestad, South Dakota State; Billy Bennett, Valparaiso

• Swept men's diving at the Augustana Invite, recording career-best scores in the 1-meter (324.30) and 3-meter (334.25)

• His 1-meter dive ranks fifth-best in program history and 3-meter sits fifth-best in SDSU history

• Both scores also top the Summit League this season

• Earned second-career diver of the week honors
