SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota center Hannah Sjerven garnered the second Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of her career, league officials announced Monday. The junior averaged 16.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds and three blocks in victories over Creighton and Coppin State.
Sjerven notched a career-high 28 points to lead the Coyotes to a 72-65 victory over Creighton. She nearly recorded her first double-double of the season with 28 points, nine boards and a season-high five blocked shots. Sjerven went 9-for-15 from the floor and made 10 free throws in the game. With her five blocked shots, she moved to sixth in USD history for in that category with 82.
She capped her week off grabbing a team-high eight rebounds in limited minutes in the 82-44 win over Coppin State. She currently ranks 22nd in the nation with 20 blocks this season.
