The Summit League Announces Week Six Softball Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State senior Katie Shoultz has been named the Summit League Player of the Week, while her teammate Kara O'Byrne earns pitcher of the week honors.
North Dakota State had an impressive week last week going 7-0 in Clearwater, Fla. to improve their record to 18-11 and enter league play on an eight-game winning streak. The Bison were led by senior outfielder Shoultz and sophomore pitcher O'Byrne. Shoultz posted a .458 batting average with 11 hits in 24 plate appearances while O'Byrne picked up two wins in the circle and posted a 0.53 ERA.

• She posted a .458 batting average with 11 hits in 24 at-bats
• Tied a career-high with four hits in a win over Wichita State while also scoring the game-winning run against Towson
• She hit her second triple of the year and drove in four runs while scoring seven runs
• Stole five bases and now has 15 on the year, 30th most in the NCAA. She has 71 career stolen bases and ranks 20th on the active career list
• This is her first career player of the week honor

• Struck out six hitters
• This is her first career pitcher of the week honor
