The Summit League Announces Week Eight Softball Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota sweeps The Summit League Player and Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season. Sophomore Lauren Eamiguel has been named The Summit League Player of the Week, while sophomore Alexis Devers earns pitcher of the week honors.
South Dakota's Eamiguel earned her first career Summit League Player of the Week honor after posting a 1.000 batting average in three conference games. She drove in three runs while scoring two and had two triples. USD's Devers was named the pitcher of the week for the second time this season after picking up two wins in two complete games while not allowing a run in 14 innings pitched.
Player of the Week
Lauren Eamiguel, South Dakota

• Eamiguel was perfect at the plate in three conference games after going 5-for-5 with two triples and four walks. For the week she posted a .667 batting average
• She drove in a run in all three games against Purdue Fort Wayne while also scoring two runs
• In nine official at-bats last week she didn't strikeout
• At shortstop she was flawless, earning seven putouts and five assists
• This is her first career player of the week honor

Pitcher of the Week
Alexis Devers, South Dakota
So. | Pitcher | Peoria, Ariz.
• Devers earned two wins over the weekend with two complete games
• In 14 innings pitched, Devers allowed just 10 hits with just one being an extra base hit
• She struck out nine batters and opponents had a .200 batting average against her
• This is her second career pitcher of the week honor and second of the season
