The Summit League Announces Week 11 Softball Awards
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State senior Yanney Ponce has been named The Summit League Player of the Week, while Western Illinois' Emily Ira earns pitcher of the week honors.
Western Illinois' Ira picks up her first pitcher of the week honor of the season after throwing two complete games and striking out 20 batters while helping lead the Leathernecks to a sweep of North Dakota. The player of the week honor went to SDSU's Ponce for the first time of her career. Ponce hit two triples and a double in the Jackrabbits sweep of Purdue Fort Wayne.

• She posted a .583 batting average with seven hits in 12 at-bats
• Hit two triples and a double
• Drove in eight runs while scoring another
• She drove in the game-winning runs in games one and two against Purdue Fort Wayne
• This is her first career player of the week honor

• She threw two complete games, earning two victories while also picking up her first save of the season
• Allowed just one earned run over 11.2 innings of work with an ERA of 0.60
• Struck out 20 batters and did not allow a walk
• This is her eighth career pitcher of the week honor and first of the season
