The Summit League Announces Week 12 Softball Awards
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota sweeps The Summit League weekly awards for the second time this season. Fighting Hawk sophomore Jailene Carpio and junior Nikki Pica have been named The Summit League Player and Pitcher of the Week.
North Dakota snapped two streaks this weekend, their seven-game losing streak and South Dakota State's seven-game winning streak. Carpio and Pica were instrumental in the Fighting Hawks series victory over the Jackrabbits while also helping UND clinch a spot into the Summit League Softball Championship in their first year in the league. North Dakota's series victory also helped the program eclipse the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season.

• Posted a .778 batting average with seven hits in nine at-bats
• She hit one home run and drove in two runs and added one double while scoring three runs
• Had an on-base percentage of .818 and a slugging percentage of 1.222
• This is her first career player of the week honor

• Pitched one complete game earning the victory that snapped the SDSU's seven-game winning streak and clinch a berth into the Summit League tournament
• Posted a 1.00 ERA with five strikeouts
• Had one putout and two assists
• This is her first career pitcher of the week honor
