South Dakota’s Duffy claims weekly accolades
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota guard Ciara Duffy claimed her third Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week award of the season, league officials announced Monday. In two wins last week, the senior averaged 19 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists a game.
Duffy led all scorers with 19 points to propel the Coyotes to a 62-41 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne for their second straight road win to start league action. Alongside her 19 points, Duffy totaled six rebounds, five assists and four steals in the win, which was the 14th consecutive win for the Coyotes over the Mastodons dating back to 2014.
To end the week, Duffy notched her fourth double-double of the season in the Coyotes 104-61 win over Denver. The Rapid City, S.D. native scored 19 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out six assists en route to a South Dakota win and surpassing the 100 point mark for the third time this season.
