SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts junior Kevin Obanor claimed his first #SummitMBB Player of the Week accolade of the season after two impressive performances against Power 5 competition, league officials announced Monday.
Obanor opened the week with a 16-point, eight-rebound effort at Oklahoma, then backed it up with a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double at Arkansas. The double-double was his third of the season as he went 7-for-12 from the field against the Razorbacks, who are receiving votes in the latest national polls.
Obanor’s work on the glass moved him into a tie for the top spot in the league in that category as he hit his average of 9.0 rpg in those two contests. The Houston native was also efficient from the foul stripe, knocking down 13-of-14, including a perfect 6-of-6 effort against the Sooners.
