SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State's Myah Selland and South Dakota's Hannah Sjerven shared the latest Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolade, league officials announced Monday.
Selland recorded the fourth and fifth double-doubles of her career to help push South Dakota State to an undefeated week against tough competition. She tied a career-high with 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while dishing out four assists in an 87-73 home win over Drake, who was ranked No. 9 in last week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
Against No. 20 Missouri State, Selland led all scorers with 19 points, pulled down 10 rebounds and dished a season-high six assists in the 60-52 road victory. Her contributions in the victory over the nationally-ranked Bears gave the Jackrabbits their third win over a Top-25 opponent this season and 14
th in the Division I era.
Sjerven notched a career-high 31 points and pulled down a career-best 21 rebounds in the Coyotes' 84-68 road win over Bradley. She is the only Division I player to record a 30-20 game so far this season and just the second to do so since the start of the 2019-20 season. Against Big 12 foe Oklahoma, Sjerven added 15 points, seven boards and three blocks in 22 minutes. For the week, she averaged 23.0 ppg and 14.0 rpg.
