Three Teams Earn #SummitSD Weekly Awards
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 14th and final edition of The Summit League swimming and diving weekly awards is here. South Dakota picked up two awards as Duncan Johnson earned Male Swimmer of the Week, while Haley Pederson earned herself Female Diver of the Week honors. Additionally, Omaha's Caroline Gardner was named the Female Swimmer of the Week, while Zach Boyd of South Dakota State received Male Diver of the Week honors.
Female Swimmer of the Week
Caroline Gardner, Omaha
Fr. | Plymouth, Minn.
• Finished first in all four events she competed in Sioux Falls at the Jackrabbit Invitational
• Placed first in the 100 Breast (1:04.95), 100 IM (1:00.14), 200 Free Relay (1:37.96) and 200 Medley Relay (1:48.79)
• Earned first career swimmer of the week award

Male Swimmer of the Week
Duncan Johnson, South Dakota
Jr. | Forest Lake, Minn.
• Swam in eight different events, finishing first in the 200 IM (1:56.45) and 400 Free Relay (3:13.81) against Omaha, South Dakota and Iowa Central in Sioux Falls
• Recorded a personal-best sixth-place 100 IM time of 53.83 to move him into 10th on USD's all-time list
• This is his first career swimmer of the week honor

Female Diver of the Week
Haley Pederson, South Dakota

• Placed first in the 1-meter dive (251.55) at the Jackrabbit Invitational
• Also placed second in the 3-meter with a score of 247.06
• This is her eighth career diver of the week honor and seventh this season

• Swept both men's diving events at Jackrabbit Invitational
