USD's Eamiguel, UND's Jones Earn #SummitSB Weekly Awards
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota junior infielder Lauren Eamiguel earned her second-straight Player of the Week honor, while North Dakota sophomore pitcher Jannay Jones earned herself Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Eamiguel became the first Coyote since 2017 to register four hits in a game, as the Mesa, Ariz., native went 4-for-5 against New Mexico in the New Mexico Lobo Classic. In total, she posted a .556 batting average with 10 hits and drove in 10 RBI. Additionally, Eamiguel scored four runs, stole two bases and had a .579 on base percentage.
In the circle, Jones finished the weekend with a 2-0 record, tossing complete-game victories in contests against Brown and San Diego in the San Diego Classic. The Yuma, Ariz., native allowed seven hits and three earned runs, while striking out a pair in the win over Brown.
