SDSU Sweeps #SummitSB Weekly Honors
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State freshmen swept the weekly awards as infielder Cylie Halvorson earned Player of the Week accolades and pitcher Grace Glanzer was awarded Pitcher of the Week honors.
Halvorson recorded a .412 batting average with eight hits, three of them doubles and notched 10 RBI. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native also had an impressive showing against Iowa as she went 2-for-4 with three RBI in the 8-2 victory.
Glanzer put on quite the display over the weekend, as the freshman pitcher recorded a 3-0 recorded, all complete games and two of the wins saw the Sioux Falls, S.D, native give up no runs. Glanzer struck out five in wins over Iowa and Loyola Chicago and seven in a shutout win against Ohio. She struck out 17 total batters in 21 innings of work.
