SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Western Illinois junior Evan Zars claimed her first career Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor after posting back-to-back double-doubles this weekend to help the Leathernecks split their series with Kansas City.
Zars averaged 17.5 ppg and 11.5 rpg during the weekend. In the series opener, she notched a team-leading 18 points and 12 rebounds to go along with a block and a steal. During game two, Zars put together a 17-point, 11-rebound performance to help guide the Leathernecks to an 82-76 win over Kansas City.
