Kansas City's McKissic garners #SummitMBB weekly award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City senior Brandon McKissic averaged 22.0 ppg in a road split at Oral Roberts to claim the first #SummitMBB Player of the Week award of his career, league officials announced Monday.

McKissic opened the weekend in Tulsa by scoring 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the floor, adding three assists and three rebounds as the Roos came up just short in a 60-58 setback to the Golden Eagles.

In game two, the Ferguson, Mo., native responded with a season-high 24 to lead Kansas City to an 81-76 triumph and it second road win of the season in league play. McKissic went 10-for-13 from the floor, made 2-of-3 attempts from 3-point range and had three rebounds to go with a pair of assists.

McKissic has reached double figures in 11 straight games and posted back-to-back 20-plus scoring games for the first time this season. He is shooting 51.6 percent from the floor this season, which is tops among Summit League guards.
