South Dakota’s Sjerven garners #SummitWBB weekly honor

Coyote’s Sjerven secures her fourth career weekly accolade

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota senior Hannah Sjerven garnered the latest Summit League Women's Basketball Player of the Week award after averaging 24.0 ppg and 9.5 rpg while shooting 71.4 percent from the field in the Coyotes' first two victories over Denver to open league play.

To close 2020 and non-conference play, Sjerven notched 14 points, eight rebounds, four blocks and four assists in limited minutes in the win over Midland. She then had an impressive conference debut with her third double-double of the season finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds on 8-for-10 shooting in the Coyote's league-opening win over the Pioneers.

Sjerven then turned around and finished just shy of back-to-back double-doubles, scoring 25 points and pulling down nine boards to help the Coyotes finish off the sweep. She went 12-for-18 from the field and notched the 1,000th point of her Division I career on her last field goal. She sits 37 points away from the 1,000-point plateau in a South Dakota jersey.
