DU’s Glover, Omaha’s Thigpen garner TicketSmarter #SummitWSOC weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver junior midfielder Kaitlyn Glover and Omaha senior goalkeeper Rachel Thigpen were selected as this week's TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, league officials announced on Monday.
 
Glover and the Pioneers capped their regular season road tilt with a pair of shutout victories against North Dakota, 6-0, and North Dakota State, 4-0. Against the Fighting Hawks, the Englewood, Colo., native notched an assist in the 71st-minute for DU's fifth goal of the match.
 
Against the Bison, Glover netted Denver's first hat trick since 2012 and recorded her second assist of the weekend. Her first goal was the game-winning tally in the 14th-minute and scored her second goal six minutes later. Glover capped the hat trick in the 89th-minute of play, collecting her 10th goal of the season.
 
Thigpen helped the Mavericks post back-to-back shutout victories on the road against NDSU, 4-0, and UND, 1-0. The San Diego, Calif., native made two saves against the Bison and logged a career-high 102 minutes in goal against the Fighting Hawks, where she tallied three saves and improved her record to 4-2 in overall.
