Coyotes’ Korngable claims season-opening TicketSmarter #SummitWBB weekly award

South Dakota’s Korngable takes home season’s first player of the week honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.South Dakota’s Liv Korngable was selected as the TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by league officials following impressive season-opening performances against some of the nation’s top teams.
 
In South Dakota’s 73-71 loss to Oklahoma, who were receiving votes in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll, Korngable dropped a game-high 22 points, two shy of her career-high. She also dished out six of the Coyotes’ 13 assists, had two steals and four rebounds.
 
Against No. 1/1 South Carolina, she tied her career-high of 24 points for the third time in her career. She tallied her second-straight 20 point game of the season to go along with five rebounds and a steal.
 
Korngable finished opening week going 17-for-30 (56.7 percent) from the field, averaged 23 points, 4.5 boards, three assists and 1.5 steals in the two games.
