SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota’s Liv Korngable was selected as the TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by league officials following impressive season-opening performances against some of the nation’s top teams.
In South Dakota’s 73-71 loss to Oklahoma, who were receiving votes in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll, Korngable dropped a game-high 22 points, two shy of her career-high. She also dished out six of the Coyotes’ 13 assists, had two steals and four rebounds.
Against No. 1/1 South Carolina, she tied her career-high of 24 points for the third time in her career. She tallied her second-straight 20 point game of the season to go along with five rebounds and a steal.
Korngable finished opening week going 17-for-30 (56.7 percent) from the field, averaged 23 points, 4.5 boards, three assists and 1.5 steals in the two games.
