SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha women's swimming and diving swept the weekly honors after competing in its first meet at home this season in a dual against Nebraska, with Caroline Gardner collecting the TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Swimmer of the Week and Darby Drake picking up the Women's Diver of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Gardner and the 200 Medley Relay squad opened the meet taking first in the 200 Medley Relay with a winning time of 1:45.20 and helped the 400 Free Relay to a first-place finish with a time of 3:34.28. The Plymouth, Minn., native earned an individual finish in the 50 breast with a time of 29.72 and picked up a runner-up finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.52.
Drake was the Mavericks' top placer against Nebraska in the diving events in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. She placed second in the 1-meter with a score of 263.63 and third in the 3-meter diver with a score of 217.35.
