SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State’s Paige Meyer took home this week’s TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award, league officials released Monday. Meyer put together two solid performances in her first week of Summit League action to help the Jacks to a 2-0 start.
In the Jackrabbit’s 85-78 road win over Kansas City, she poured in 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting for her second-highest scoring output of the season. Meyer also grabbed seven rebounds, dished out four assists and recorded a steal to help snap the Roos’ 10-game win streak.
At Oral Roberts, Meyer just missed a double-double as she finished with 11 points and a career-high nine assists. She finished 5-for-8 from the field, pulled down six rebounds and tallied a career-high three steals in the 71-51 victory.
After the first week of league play, Meyer led the league in assists (13) and ranked third in field-goal shooting percentage (65 percent). She averaged 16.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 6.5 apg and 2.0 spg in the two games.
