South Dakota's Umude earns second #SummitMBB weekly award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second time this season, South Dakota senior Stanley Umude earned #SummitMBB Player of the Week honors, league officials announced Monday.

Umude was dominant in a weekend sweep of Omaha as the Coyotes improved to 8-0 in league play. The San Antonio native averaged 28.0 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 3.5 apg while making 21-of-33 of his attempts from the field in the two victories.

In Friday's 91-59 victory, Umude finished with 32 points to lead scorers, going 11-for-18 from the field and 8-for-8 from the foul line. The high-flying forward scored 22 of his points in the first half and would go on to tie the league-lead with his third 30-plus point scoring game of the season.

In a much tighter contest on Saturday, Umude added 24 points to go with eight rebounds in a 97-93 victory. He equaled his season-high with five assists and put together his eighth 20-plus point scoring game of the campaign.
