ORU's Helsee, Denver’s Arrazola collect #SummitWSOC weekly honors

Oral Roberts, Denver take home seasons first weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Following their performances in the opening weekend of the 2020 women’s soccer season, Oral Roberts forward Martha Helsee was named The Summit League Offensive Player of the Week, while Denver goalkeeper Nerea Arrazola earned the accolade on the defensive side, league officials announced Monday.

Helsee tallied a team-high three points to garner her first-career offensive award. The Tulsa, Okla., native scored the Golden Eagles’ opening goal of the season against Central Arkansas and added an assist in the contest.
 
Arrazola made five saves against Colorado in her second career start, including two diving stops. She played 97 minutes in the contest as the Pioneers forced extra time before falling 1-0 to the Buffaloes.
