Leatherneck’s Gilmore, Jackrabbit’s Selland split weekly honor after impressive weekend showings

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Western Illinois’ Grace Gilmore and South Dakota State’s Myah Selland shared this week’s Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor, league officials announced Monday.

In Western Illinois’ 105-102 double-overtime loss at Omaha, Gilmore set a program record and tied the league's single-game scoring record after finishing with 46. She knocked down a career-high six three-pointers and added 10 free throws. Gilmore’s 46 points are the second-most by a Division I player this season. She finished the game with eight rebounds, four assists and a steal.

In the second meeting with the Mavericks, Gilmore helped the Leathernecks to an 89-66 victory over Omaha. She finished with 11 points, five assists, three rebounds and a steal.

Selland helped the Jackrabbits remain undefeated in the league play after sweeping the series against in-state rival South Dakota. In South Dakota State’s 64-45 series-opening win, Selland finished with a team-best 17 points to go along with a career-tying nine assists and five rebounds.

In the Jackrabbit’s come-from-behind victory in game two, Selland paced SDSU with 26 points, seven boards and a pair of steals en route to her fifth 20-plus point game of the season and 10th of her career.
