SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota senior Hannah Sjerven secured the final Summit League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor of the season after averaging a double-double on the weekend to go along with 3.5 bpg as she guided the Coyotes to a pair of home wins over North Dakota State.
In the first meeting with the Bison, she led the Coyotes to an 82-81 victory after pulling down one of her seven offensive boards on the weekend and getting fouled on the putback with .02 seconds remaining. She sank the game-winning free throw and ended the series opener with her eighth double-double of the year with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also added three steals and two blocks in the victory.
During the final meeting with the Bison, she finished with her third-straight double-double, scoring 24 points to go with 12 rebounds. Sjerven also had a season-high five blocked shots to move up to second in USD history for career blocks and added four assists to claim the series sweep over North Dakota State.
