Brooker, West earn #SummitWSOC weekly accolades

SDSU’s Brooker and Omaha’s West receive awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State forward/midfielder Eden Brooker was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Omaha defender Jordyn West was named the Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

Brooker had stellar performances against Denver in two games, as she played 92 minutes in game one, recording an assist on the game-tying goal. She also recorded one shot in the match as the Jackrabbits contest ended in a double overtime draw. In game two, the Santa Rosa, Calif., native scored the golden goal in SDSU’s double overtime win against the Pioneers and led the Jackrabbits with three shots, including two on goal.
 
West played all 90 minutes in the backline for Omaha as the Mavericks beat Oral Roberts 1-0, which was their seventh shutout of the season. The Conifer, Colo., native logged another 90 minutes in game two and tied the match in the seventh minute with her first career goal. Omaha would win the match 2-1 and in total, West finished the week with two shots.
