SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State forward Maya Hansen was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Omaha defender Grace Thede was named the Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
Hansen had a solid weekend in a pair of wins against Kansas City, and it was highlighted by a hat trick in game one with six shots and five on goal. The Savage, Minn., native also scored another goal in game two and led the Jackrabbits with three shots in that game. In all, Hansen tallied four goals with eight points and played 102 minutes.
Thede made two starts at left back for the Mavericks and posted two shutout wins against South Dakota. The Omaha, Neb., native’s weekend was highlighted by a game-winning goal in game one in the 97
th minute of overtime. In all, Thede finished the weekend with three shots and one on goal.
