SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2021 Summit League Women's Golf Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare is set to begin on Saturday, April 24 at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kan. The 54-hole event will span three rounds over the course of the three days and conclude on Monday, April 26.

Championship Notes
• The 2021 Women's Golf Championship will be the second consecutive played at the Sand Creek Station Golf Club in Newton, Kan. The championship will feature a Par-72, 6,000-yard course layout. Newton is located around 20 miles north of Wichita.
• The Denver women will look to win their sixth tournament title in the last eight years and defend the 2019 crown that was the last trophy awarded after the 2020 event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
• DU senior Mary Weinstein put together a record-breaking performance two years ago, closing the 54-hole event with a women's course record and Summit League Championship record 65 (-7) to claim medalist honors for the first time in her collegiate career. Her 65 allowed her to tie the tournament's 54-hole scoring mark of 217 (+1) that had been shot five times before.
• Weinstein is one of four members from the 2019 All-Tournament Team will return to the course for this year's event. Joining the DU senior in the field from that quartet are Oral Roberts teammates Sarah Bell and Isabella Camaal and South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano.
• Bell finished third as a freshman in 2019, carding a 229 (+13) while Toscano took fourth with a 231 (+15) and Camaal tied for fifth with a 232 (+16). Bell and Camaal helped the Golden Eagles finish runner-up to the Pios, which was the program's highest finish since 2015.
• Toscano has put together one of the more impressive springs in Summit League women's golf history, winning four individual titles, earning runner-up honors once and finishing inside the top 10 in all six of her events. She currently leads all league golfers with a 71.9 scoring average and ranks 42nd nationally in the latest Golfstat rankings. Her efforts helped SDSU to a trio of team titles during the spring as they captured trophies at the Jackrabbit Invitational, the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird and the Stampede at The Creek.
• Denver holds the league's top team scoring average at 293.4 entering the championship and the Pioneers were ranked 39th in the latest Golfstat rankings. Freshman Katarina Drocarova paces the Pios with a 72.3 scoring average and joins Toscano inside the top 100 as she was ranked 94th in the latest overall player rankings. The Pioneers have six of the top seven individual scoring averages entering the tournament.
