SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State senior forward Maya Hansen and Oral Roberts senior defender Gabrielle Abbey captured the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Peak Performers of the Week. Hansen received the offensive honor, while Abbey picked up the defensive award, league officials announced Tuesday.
 
Hansen found the back of the net three times over the course of two matches as the Jackrabbits picked up six key points in road victories against St. Thomas and Western Illinois. Against the Tommies, Hansen scored the game-winning goal in the 47^th minute in an eventual 3-1 victory for the Jackrabbits.
 
Against the Leathernecks, the Savage, Minn., native notched the fourth two-goal game of her career and first this season. Hansen opened the match with a goal in the 31^st minute, heading home a cross from Laney Murdzek. Her second goal of the match came in the 87^th minute in which she received a pass from Karlee Manding and struck a shot into the top corner. With her two goals against WIU, Hansen moved into fifth place on the league's all-time scoring charts with 36 career goals.
 
At 9-5-1, Abbey and the Golden Eagles are off to their best start since 2016 (8-2) thanks to back-to-back shutouts against North Dakota and North Dakota State. ORU's four league wins are also the program's most since the 2017 squad finished 5-2.
 
Against UND, the Norman, Okla., native played all 90 minutes and tallied 87 minutes on the pitch against NDSU. Oral Roberts is in sole possession of second place in the league standings with four matches remaining in the regular season.
