#SummitWSOC Weekly Notebook: No. 10

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The final week of regular season play is here, and it's going to be an eventful weekend of league competition. Denver and South Dakota State have clinched a spot in the league tournament while the final four sports are still up for grabs.

Oral Roberts sits at 12 points and third in the league standings heading into their home matches against Denver and Omaha. South Dakota and Omaha are tied for the fourth spot with 11 points apiece, while North Dakota State (9 points) and North Dakota (8 points) are vying for a trip to the tournament as well.

The action will kick off with the Jackrabbits heading north up I-29 against the Fighting Hawks on Friday at 3 p.m. CT.

Denver clinched one of the top two seeds in the Summit League Tournament, guaranteeing its spot as a host for the first weekend of the tournament (October 28-30) and a bye into the semifinals ... Sami Feller had quite the weekend for the Pioneers, as the fifth-year senior scored twice, including the equalizer against St. Thomas ... Devan  McSwain had an assist on the game-winner against Western Illinois and remains the only Pioneer to play the full 90 minutes in every match this year ... Feller ranks second in the league in assists (6) and points (18) and is joined by Camryn MacMillan with six goals apiece, which is tied for third in the league.

Madison Page leads the team with five goals, while Anderson and Lily Hollis are tied for the team lead in assists with two ... The Roos will end regular season play with home matches against Omaha and Denver.

North Dakota is still alive for the league tournament next week as they are currently seventh in the league standings with eight points.

Olivia Lovick tallied three total points in the win over North Dakota as the junior forward set up the opening goal by finding Paige Goaley with a pass and an assist ... Lovick sealed the victory by earning a penalty kick and tucking away the penalty for her third goal of the season ... Abby Wilkinson made eight saves in the contest, good enough for her fourth clean sheet of the season ...  It is the seventh total shutout of the season for the Bison, which is the most in a season under head coach Mike Regan ... The shutout moved the Bison into one of the coveted top-six spots in the league standings as they continue a late-season push for a postseason berth.

Marissa Gohr scored in back-to-back matches helping Omaha to its first two consecutive wins of the season ... She scored the game-winner against St. Thomas and scored the third goal of the Mavericks' shutout versus WIU ... Regan Zimmers picked up a goal of her own and was part of a defensive unit that held the Leathernecks to eight total shots ... Omaha's 11 points sit them tied for fourth in the standings in the last week.

With 12 points, the Golden Eagles are third in the league standings with a 4-3 ledger and will face tough opponents in Denver and Omaha ... The trio of Samantha Guzman, Kennedy Langebartels and Julia Thasaphong have a team-high five goals apiece, while goalkeeper Louisa Ramsauer has the most shutouts this season with seven, including two in league play.

Nguyen is tied for fifth in the league with 14 total points in 16 matches ... The Tommies face the Leathernecks in the regular season finale

Caroline Lewis allowed just one goal to the league's best offense, Oral Roberts, in a 2-1 win ... She made a career-high eight saves and made six more against Kansas City ... Shaylee Gailus opened the scoring in the 33rd and Joana Zanin picked up her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 74th minute to clinch the match ... The Coyotes will look to make its third consecutive trip to the league tournament when they face NDSU and UND this weekend.

The SDSU defense held ORU, the league's highest-scoring squad, scoreless for the first time in five Summit League matches this season ... The Jackrabbits also extended their unbeaten streak in Brookings to 42 consecutive regular season matches ... SDSU needs just two points this weekend to guarantee one of two host spots and a bye into the semifinals during the opening weekend of the 2022 #SummitWSOC Championship (Oct. 28-30).
