SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State’s Ali Hinze was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Volleyball Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, while South Dakota’s Madison Harms collected the Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Hinze paced the Bison with 34 kills (5.67 kills per set), 16 digs (2.67 digs per set) and six blocks while hitting .400 overall in two sweeps last week. The Maple Grove, Minn., native began her week posting a match-high 18 kills to go along with a season-best six blocks in the win over Western Illinois.
Hinze registered a double-double with a match-high 16 kills and 11 digs with a .481 hitting percentage in the victory over St. Thomas. She has reached double digits in kills in each of her last 10 matches.
Harms played in all nine sets in South Dakota’s two wins last week as the junior totaled 19 blocks (2.11 blocks per set) and 16 kills (1.78 kills per set). The Sergeant Bluff, Iowa native began her week by posting a career-high 13 blocks in the USD’s 3-2 reverse sweep of Denver.
Against Omaha, Harms and the Coyotes snapped the Mavericks’ seven-match winning streak in four sets as the middle blocker had 10 kills and six blocks.
