SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas senior Riley Miller garnered the latest TicketSmarter #SummitMBB Peak Performer of the Week award Monday, League officials announced. Miller is the first Tommie to win the weekly men’s basketball award since St. Thomas became a League member prior to last season.
Miller averaged 16.7 ppg and shot 46.4 percent from 3-point range as St. Thomas went 2-1 at the Zootown Classic hosted by Montana.
The Eden Prairie, Minn., native averaged 21.0 ppg in the Tommies’ two victories. In the Tommies’ buzzer-beating win over Troy, Miller went for 16 points on a 3-for-8 effort from deep.
He capped the tournament with a season-high 28 points, going for 9-for-17 from distance. The nine makes were a career-high and are the second most by a Division I player in a game this season.
Miller earned a spot on the Zootown Classic All-Tournament Team as he also went 11-for-11 from the charity stripe.
