SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State senior Heaven Hamling garnered this week’s TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials released Monday. Hamling averaged 22.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.3 spg and shot 50.0 percent from the field to help the Bison to an undefeated week and 6-0 start to the season.
In the 68-54 victory over Northern Colorado to open the week, Hamling's impact came on the glass where she grabbed a game-best six rebounds and in distribution as she also dished out a team-high six assists to help pace the Bison to a home win.
The Grand Rapids, Minn., turned on her scoring prowess in a pair of victories over Mountain West foes at the Nugget Classic in Reno, Nev. Hamling paced NDSU with a game-high 23 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field in a 68-53 win over Boise State. She also added four rebounds, three assists and three steals in the victory.
Against Nevada, Hamling closed out the week with a career-high 39 points on 11-for-19 shooting from the field and 7-for-12 shoot from behind the 3-point line to guide the Bison to their sixth straight win. She also went a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, grabbed six rebounds, added three steals and dished out an assist in the 73-68 win over the host Wolf Pack.
Hamling’s 39 points are tied for the most points in a single game this season by a Summit League player and are tied for the third most by a DI player.
