SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League women’s basketball nonconference schedule is coming to a close with a majority of our teams still having at least one game left to play before League action picks up. The journey for the 2022-23 regular season crown begins Monday with eight of our ten member schools taking the court.
The final few days of nonconference action tips off today at 3:30 p.m. CT with South Dakota hosting UT Martin.

In the victory five Pioneers reached double figures in points led by Jojo Jone’s team-best 17 points on 5-for-7 shooting ... Mikayla Brandon chipped in 15 points, eight rebounds and a pair of steals while Emma Smith finished with 14 points ... Mikenzie Jones tallied double figures for the first time in her collegiate career with 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting ... Ally Haar rounded out the double-figure scoring efforts as she finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds ... As a squad, the Pioneers pulled down 11 offensive rebounds for 13 second chance points as well as stole the ball 17 times to pick up 33 points ... The Pioneers look ahead as they prepare to host Omaha on Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. MT to open League play.

Against Weber State, Kacie Borowicz led the Fighting Hawks with a game-high 19 points to go along with a team-best four assists ... Juliet Gordon chipped in 15 points of her own while also leading the defensive with six rebounds and three steals ... Claire Orth finished with 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field while Nakiyah Hurst rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points ... She also notched five rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal ... Paiton Burckhard followed with 13 points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field as well as a team-best seven rebounds ... Haleigh Timmer and Madysen Vlastuin eached chipped in 12 points of their own in the win ... Timmer also pulled down five rebounds while Vlastuin finished with four rebounds, four assists and two steals ... Against UT Martin, Vlastuin led the Jacks with a career-high-tying 14 points ... She was 5-for-8 from the floor and sunk three three-pointers in the win ... Selland and Burckhard rounded out the double-figure scoring efforts as they finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Selland also recorded five rebounds, two blocks and a steal while Burckhard had five rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals ... The Jackrabbits will meet #1/1 South Carolina Thursday before opening League play at home against Oral Roberts (Dec. 19) and Kansas City (Dec. 21).

In the defeat of Valparaiso, four Leathernecks scored in double figures led by Jada Thorpe’s 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals ... Elizabeth Lutz scored a season-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds, three assists and four steals ... Deets finished with 15 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field and 3-for-6 from deep while Addi Brownfield contributed 12 points of her own ...
