SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas forward Parker Bjorklund garnered the first TicketSmarter #SummitMBB Peak Performer of the Week award of his career Monday, League officials announced. Bjorklund averaged 24.0 ppg and shot 65.5 percent from the field as the Tommies raced out to a 2-0 start in League play.
In UST’s 75-62 League-opening win over North Dakota, Bjorklund scored a career-high 29 points and went 13-for-20 from the field. The Chaska, Minn., native scored 22 of those points in the second half after the Tommies and Fighting Hawks were tied 30-30 at halftime.
Bjorklund added 19 points and six rebounds in the Tommies’ 78-68 win over North Dakota State. The Tommies’ graduate student went 8-for-12 from the field and also had two steals in what was UST’s first victory over the Bison since the 1966-67 season.
