KC's Nesbitt, SDSU's Scheierman share TicketSmarter #SummitMBB weekly award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City’s Marvin Nesbitt, Jr., and South Dakota State’s Baylor Scheierman were named TicketSmarter #SummitMBB Co-Players of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

Nesbitt led the Roos to a 3-0 week in league play, averaging 19.0 ppg, 8.7 rpg and 2.3 bpg in two wins over Western Illinois and one over St. Thomas.

The Chicago, Ill., native opened the week with a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double in a road win over the Leathernecks. His 12 boards were a season-high as he went 5-for-10 from the field.

Nesbitt registered his second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor in a home win over the Tommies. He capped his week by scoring a career-high 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting and blocking a career-high three shots in a home win over WIU.

Scheierman has the Jackrabbits off to a 12-0 start in league play and averaged 19.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 4.5 apg in road wins at North Dakota and South Dakota last week.

Against the Fighting Hawks, Scheierman scored 24 points, pulled down eight boards and dished out five assists. He went 10-for-18 from the field and added a block and a steal.

In the win over the Coyotes, Scheierman recorded his league-leading 10th double-double of the season, finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds to go with four assists. The 6-foot-5 guard is the only player in the country that leads his conference in rebounding and assists.
