TULSA, Okla. – Top-seeded North Dakota State survived the first #SummitBSB Championship elimination game, registering a 7-4 victory over third-seeded South Dakota State Friday at J.L. Johnson Stadium to stay alive in the four-team event.
NDSU shortstop Peter Brookshaw had a pair of hits and three RBI to pace an offense that scored its final six runs with two outs. On the mound, sophomore Cade Feeney went seven strong innings, scattering six hits and allowing only one earned run to earn his seventh win of the season.
Second baseman Druw Sackett put the Bison (31-18) on the board in the first with a solo shot to left field and Brookshaw made it 2-0 with a two-out, RBI-single in the third.
The Jackrabbits (22-23) cut the deficit in half when Henry George belted a home run down the rightfield line in the bottom of the third.
Brookshaw provided his second run-scoring hit of the game in the fifth after NDSU's at-bat was extended by an error on SDSU firstbaseman Dawson Parry. He drove in two with his eighth home run of the season to give his team a 4-1 advantage.
The Bison tacked on what would prove to be three crucial runs in the eighth on a pair of two-out hits. Cadyn Schwabe delivered a two-run single and Terrell Huggins added a RBI-single in consecutive at-bats to extend the lead to 7-1.
Parry tried to make amends for his early fielding error with one swing of the bat ash he got those three runs right back for the Jackrabbits in the bottom of the eighth. He belted his 10th home run of the season off NDSU reliever Tristen Roehrich to make it a 7-4 game, but the Bison reliever was able to strike out the next batter to end the frame.
Roehrich retired the side in order in the ninth, picking up two more strikeouts to finish with four over his two innings of work.

Notable Notes
• The Bison and Jackrabbits met only once during the regular season after the final two games of that series were cancelled due to inclement weather. NDSU won the lone tilt in Brookings, 8-3.
• With the win, NDSU improved to 3-6 all-time in tournament games against SDSU. The Jackrabbits won the last meeting, 13-7, in 2008 to advance to the title game.
• Brookshaw extended his hitting streak to six and has multiple hits in five of those contests. His home run was his eighth of the season and he extended his team lead in RBI to 46 with three in the game.
• Since the tournament format moved to a single-division format in 1999, the No. 1 seed has never lost its first two games.
• With his eighth-inning home run, Dawson Parry became the third different Jackrabbit to reach double figures in that category this season.
